The Dance of the Weathervane

Lineage Dance of Los Angeles returned to Houston for two performances only, to benefit The Weathervane Foundation. Sponsored by the Houston Family Arts Center, the event was held at the Hilton Garden Inn Northwest, 7979 Willow Chase Blvd., Houston, Texas. Saturday evening, June 23, included a formal dinner show, and Sunday, June 24 an afternoon dessert performance.
The contemporary dance group Lineage Dance was created by choreographer Hilary Thomas of Pasadena, California, to raise money for organizations nation-wide, and to help make the arts accessible to audiences of all demographics and socioeconomic backgrounds. Lineage , known for its original, highly athletic interpretations, has earned a reputation for consistently presenting colorful, spell-binding performances that appeal to all ages. Breast Cancer: No One Chose This Journey recently received two outstanding awards at Book Expo America in New York (5/25/3011). It was awarded the Gold Medal for best book in Women's Health (2010) by Living Now Book Awards. The Living Now Book Awards recognize books that help readers enrich their lives in wholesome ways. Breast Cancer: No One Chose This Journey was also pleased to receive the ForeWord Magazine Book of the Year Bronze Award for Health (2010).
Drs. Sam J. Buser and Glenn F. Sternes recently presented to the Houston Bar Association Collaborative Law Section on January 17th, 2012 at the Four Oaks Place located in Houston,Texas on "Getting Over Divorce."
Featuring a lively question and answer exchange with an enthusiastic audience, the afternoon program on Top Tips for helping men through divorce went quickly. "This is a must repeat program," concluded an audience member. "Our goal is to get a copy of The Guys-Only Guide to Getting Over Divorce into the hands of every family lawyer in the state of Texas ," commented Dr. Buser.
Roger Leslie, author of upcoming "Teaching S-U-C-C-E-S-S using Award-Winning Chapter Books," will present at Texas Library Association (Fort Worth, TX).
For busy librarians, teachers and counselors, Roger will demonstrate how to use award-winning chapter books in developing character education programs for elementary children.
