Fran Padgett author of Breast Cancer: No One Chose This Journey and Breast Cancer Recovery: No One Wrote a Manual is a special member of The Breast Center at Houston Northwest Medical Center recovery program. Fran Padgett's books are used by The Breast Cancer Center team and by newly diagnosed patients as learning tools for important topics they may encounter in their journey.
The presenters, authors of a new book on helping men get over divorce and on to a better life, will discuss the unique ways men experience the divorce process. The workshop will address how men can effectively re-enter the dating world, ways for men to reduce harm to their children through and after divorce, the nature of men's sexuality post-divorce, and the choices men must make to develop successful new relationships. The workshop will offer practical hints to psychologists who work with men seeking to put their lives back together after a marriage ends. Additionally, the audience and the presenters will dialogue about the different needs and experiences of men and women who go through divorce and how psychologists can best meet those needs. Attention will be apid to the theoretical and research findings about men, masculinity, and gender issues and their relevance to helping men deal with divorce.
