Book Three of the Rani AdventuresBy : Ron Snell
"It’s time for bed," said the elderly gentleman as he lifted his wide-eyed granddaughter off my lap.
"But Pop Pop, he’s telling us such funny stories," protested the giggling girl.
So Pop Pop sat down to listen, and soon the little girl fell asleep in his arms. He laid her gently on the couch and then the two of us laughed until the tears rolled down our cheeks. And sometimes we cried. And deep into the night I told him everything I could remember about bouncing back and forth between the Amazon jungle and the concrete jungle.
When I finally went to bed, he was still sitting beside his granddaughter, one hand on her head and the other under his chin. Snoring with a smile on his face.
